At the heart of the Perche, 130 km south-west of Paris, in Thiron-Gardais, Jean-Pierre and Martine Martin welcome you to their tables to taste their inventive dishes in a quiet, charming setting.
In 1996 this restaurant was just a modest créperie and pizzeria, but year after year Jean-Pierre Martin improved his culinary masterpieces to delight the pallet of the gourmets of this region and beyond.
After an apprenticeship with the master chef Jean Belaire and a period in the Concorde Lafayette Hotel where he worked with Joël Robuchon, Jean-Pierre Martin decided to investigate the culinary wealth of other countries such as Japan, Argentina and Mexico.
There, he learned different styles of cooking, before coming back to France to practise his art in establishments as prestigious as the Café de la Paix.
After a short time in the Landes he decided to settle down with his wife Martine in this region of the Perche that they particularly like.
